Top 5 ways to have a blast with kids in Switzerland!
When it comes to a vacation with the little ones, it’s always important to have as many entertainment options in place as possible, even with as enchanting a country as Switzerland. So here are the top five ways to have a complete blast with your kids, and if these aren’t enough, then just give us a call for plenty more details.
Adventure Park, Davos
A high wire and cycle park, the Adventure Park is situated at the foot of the Flüela mountain pass and is a super-exciting option for adventurous adults and children alike. The park has five rope courses of different difficulties (including a children’s one) and a mountain bike course suitable for all riders. The bike trails feature tables, pump track, jumps and north shore structures.
Pedalos on Zurich Lake
Zurich is extremely famous for its lakes, especially the Zurich Lake, and what better way of exploring them than by the Pedalos that are available for hire across the country. So grab one of these quaint-looking boats and admire the absolutely stunning views of the city.
Switzerland’s popular e-bikes or pedelecs have a bit of extra va-va-voom. These electrically-assisted bikes can be rented at the rail station and are a nippy way to get around town or explore more of the region’s lush countryside, including the historic town of Liestal.
Verkehrshaus Der Schweiz
In a country obsessed with modes of transport, it’s hardly surprising that the Swiss Transport Museum is so huge, well-designed and boatloads of fun. With separate sections for track, road, air, water and space travel, there’s loads of interactive displays and exhibits for kids of all ages. The museum’s large inner courtyard is a complete picnic with a child-size “airport” and canals to shunt goods around in, a sandpit with diggers of all shapes and sizes where kids can practise roadmaking, a mini steam train to ride as well as a temporary lake that’s set up in summer. The museum also houses a planetarium, 3D cinema and a large cafe/restaurant.
Camping By The Lakeside, Disentis
A super-exciting concept, it was actually the gold panning available at TCS Camping Disentis that really sold us on the Graubünden campsite. But it definitely has so much more to offer! Arranged beside a lake in a clearing surrounded by pine trees, the campsite has 180 pitches, modern facilities, a lakeside recreation room and a restaurant serving local specialities. Along with the gold panning, there is mountain biking, tennis, golf, mini golf, horse riding and paragliding on offer.
